Blackberry Farm Brewery Chief Fermentation Officer and Managing Partner

With more than 25 years in and around the craft brewing industry, Roy began exploring his passion for great beer in Knoxville as a home brewer while attending the University of Tennessee. A native of Chattanooga, Roy has traveled extensively to gather the knowledge and expertise to make the best beer possible.

Roy brought his passion and knowledge to Blackberry Farm and led the start of the Blackberry Farm Brewery, growing the efforts from a small on-property operation to the well-recognized program it is today. From milestones including Classic Saison’s gold metal win at the World Beer Cup to opening a taproom to the public in 2019, Roy continues to support a Brewery team that honors the history of brewing while pushing the boundaries to craft creative and exciting brews.

Prior to Blackberry Farm, Roy worked as a brewer with multiple breweries in the Southeast and held several sales and marketing positions with beer and beverage companies throughout the United States before coming back to Tennessee. Passionate about all things Southern, he is a lover of music, cooking, beverages, and travel, and is proud to call the mountains of East Tennessee home.
