Hunter Lewis

Hunter E. Lewis is Editor in Chief of Meredith’s FOOD & WINE. Previously, Lewis led COOKING LIGHT, where he was Editor in Chief from August 2014 to October 2018. Under his leadership, COOKING LIGHT won four James Beard Foundation Media Awards.

Previously, Hunter was the Executive Editor of SOUTHERN LIVING, a position he held since September 2012. Lewis joined the SOUTHERN LIVING brand from Bon Appétit, where he was the Food Editor. Prior, Lewis was Kitchen Director at Saveur, where he developed, edited, and tested recipes for the print and web editions of the monthly epicurean magazine.

Additionally, Lewis researched for the Lee Bros. Southern Cookbook and held various culinary positions at restaurants from New York City to Sonoma County. A graduate of The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Lewis currently resides in Birmingham, AL with his family.
